Tomsk State University hosted a meeting between the university leadership and the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Moscow. The parties discussed the creation of double degree programs with two more universities in Indonesia and the possibility of opening an Indonesian cultural center at TSU.
TSU First Vice-Rector Victor Dyomin made a presentation about TSU activities and its endeavors with Indonesia. Ekaterina Trifonova, Head of International Division, Alexandra Naletova, Deputy Head of International Division, Evgenia Zaitseva, Director of Language Competence Center, and Stephen Vijaya, Senior Laboratory Assistant of the Department of Astronomy and Space Geodesy of the Faculty of Physics were also present at the meeting.
The Indonesian side was represented by the attachΓ© for education and culture of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Moscow, Khoirul Rosyadi, and the secretary of the attachΓ© for education and culture of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Moscow, Cierio Yuhanata.
During the meeting the parties discussed the double degree programs with other universities in Indonesia, including Gaja Mada University and Pajajaran University, the possibility of joint grants together with RSF and BRIN, and the development of relations with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia.
There was also a proposal to open an Indonesian cultural center on an ongoing basis at TSU. Similar center are already functioning in St. Petersburg State University and Kazan federal University. They promote Indonesian culture through various events, joint programs with universities in Indonesia, and Indonesian language clubs.
For reference: Tomsk State University has been cooperating with Indonesia since 2015. TSU currently has cooperation agreements with 20 organizations in Indonesia, including 12 universities and institutes. TSU has 76 Indonesian students. In 2025, two joint research centers were opened with Raden Intan State Islamic University in the city of Lampung βTropical Seas Research Center and Halal Analysis Center.
