The UAV Kontur drone, created at the Siberian Design Center at Tomsk State University, received another award – the European Product Design Award 2025 in the status of Design Winner (Consumer Electronics/Professional Robotics and Drones).
According to Igor Dydykin, head of the Future Lab and project designer, the European Product Design Award is given to talented designers from all over the world that make everyday life better due to practical and ingenious solutions. This award is about strategic thinking and creativity in product design.
— For us, participation in EPDA is, firstly, an independent professional assessment: the jury looks at innovativeness, aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics and other criteria. Secondly, it is a way to stay relevant in the industry. Besides, this is the recognition by the global design community that fosters the ability to compare approaches, exchange experience and check your professionalism. Typically such awards are given to China and the United States. There are very few projects from Russia – we found only two. Therefore, this award is especially valuable for us, – said Igor Dydykin.
