A new course by TSU named Biological Diversity (Theories, Measures and Data Sampling Techniques has launched on the world's leading educational online platform Coursera.
The course provides an overview of the theoretical foundation of the evolution and dynamics of biodiversity, as well as methods of assessing it. Its author is Roberto Cazzolla Gatti, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Department of Botany, an employee of the Centre of Excellence BioClimLand (Biota-Climate-Landscapes).
According to the scientist, the understanding of how biodiversity develops in the world, as well as how to interpret information about it, is important for all who are interested in ecology.
- This knowledge is important regardless of whether you are building a career in science, politics, or other areas. For example, researchers need to correctly apply the theory and codes and high ranking politicians need to understand and be able to interpret their findings - said Roberto Cazzolla Gatti.
