A large-scale annual forum of young scientists and entrepreneurs U-NOVUS will be held in Tomsk from May 21 to 23. In 2025, the Forum will be held for the tenth time, its main objective is to develop a model of interaction between universities, business and the state for scientific and technological development of Russian regions through the generation, implementation and scaling of technological leadership projects.
More than 1,000 participants from 30 regions of Russia, with more than 150 speakers will attend the Forum.
The key topics of U-NOVUS this year include Innovative development of regions: the path to technological leadership; Universities and business: the power of partnership to achieve the goals of national projects; Strategy for the development of the chemical industry of the Russian Federation and formats for the implementation of national projects; New education strategy: personnel of technological sovereignty.
A strategic session – The region as a qualified customer for scientific and technological development: goals, tools, cooperation – will be held on May 22 within the framework of the Siberian scientific and educational cluster.
The plenary session – Territories of the Future: Regional Ecosystems as Drivers of Technological Leadership – is scheduled for May 23.
On the same day there will be a scientific and technological lecture, a discussion panel: How to train personnel for the chemical industry? and a case session Infrastructure of technological leadership: startup studios as a cross-platform resource center in universities, and the awarding of the winners of the IT-hackathon from MTS.
One of the tasks set by the organizers is to turn the potential of student entrepreneurial teams in Russia into a development resource for advanced business in the logic of technological leadership. That is why the Forum events are traditionally attended by students of the Big University of Tomsk and schoolchildren.
The InnoLab educational program for representatives of universities of the Siberian Federal District will be held by Skolkovo Open University and the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform. The professional club on low-tonnage chemistry invites the representatives of universities, startup studios and companies. A project pitch session will be held for the participants of the Student Startup competition on new materials and chemical technologies.
Moreover, there will be an entrepreneurial movement program for schoolchildren. The career meeting System Opportunities includes presentations by experts, master classes, open lessons on technologies and professions of the future. Besides, schoolchildren and students will be able to take part in the business game “Build a Startup”, the business game “Bunker 2.0”, the engineering quest “Professor Wells’ Time Machine” and other events.
