On September 30 and October 1, the celebration of the Day of the Confucius Institute will be held in the entertainment complex Fakel. Tomsk citizens and guests of the city who came to the festival will be able to get acquainted with Chinese culture, taste traditional dishes, try on the national Chinese costume, and estimate the art of body art masters who will paint the faces of those who wish in the style of the Beijing Opera.

The organizers of the celebration, which has become a good tradition of the Confucius Institute, are its employees and students. This time they will offer an extensive entertainment programme, which includes a tea ceremony, an introduction to Chinese martial arts, a master class on weaving knots of happiness, cutting out paper, calligraphy, and Chinese painting. Along with this, the guests of the holiday will be able to participate in an open lesson from the teachers of the Confucius Institute and try themselves in studying the Chinese language.

- Usually, we held the Day of the Confucius Institute within the walls of Tomsk State University, said Irina Shvedova, director of the TSU Confucius Institute. - But every year more and more people come to the festival, in fact, this event became a city event, so this time it was decided to go to a large site. Guests who come to the weekend in the entertainment complex "Fakel" will be able to feel the atmosphere of the Celestial Empire and, for sure, will appreciate the originality of the culture of this beautiful country.
