Director of TSU Engineering Chemical Technology Center told the Russian President about staff training for chemical industry

More than 1,700 people participated in the Future Technologies Forum dedicated to new materials and chemistry in Moscow. Alexey Knyazev, Director of the Engineering Chemical Technology Center of Tomsk State University (ECTC TSU), met the Russian President Vladimir Putin together with other young scientists.

Alexey Knyazev told about the relevance of training highly qualified staff. He noted that Tomsk ensures training to the largest number of specialists for the chemical industry in the Urals, and the region is quite ready scale up this process due to the improvements in the current resource base: to build a new educational building, to increase the teaching staff, to expand study programs.

The largest Russian corporations and research organizations presented their knowledge-intensive achievements at the exhibition of advanced developments.

— The forum focused on the strategic tasks of new materials and chemical industry for the long-term perspective. Earlier, the chemical industry was included in a number of industries representing the innovation economy, and today it is new materials that determine the prospects of future technologies. One of the key issues of the discussion was the training of specialists for the industry of new materials and chemistry. Tomsk Region, with its experience of fundamental training, modern digital education and advanced industrial practices, is capable of training engineers of the future, emphasized Lyudmila Ogorodova, Deputy Governor of Tomsk Region for scientific and technological development.

The 2025 Future Technologies Forum was held with the support of the Russian Government, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Science Foundation and the Russian Quantum Center. The Forum attracted the attention of the representatives of Russia and 37 foreign countries, including Azerbaijan, Angola, Argentina, Vietnam, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Mongolia, UAE, Slovakia, Thailand and others.
