HITs Master's student won the BRICS Future Skills & Tech Challenge 2024 championship

Vladislav Netaev, a master's student at the Higher IT School (HITs) of Tomsk State University, recently won the gold medal at the BRICS+ Future Skills & Tech Challenge international championship. This is his second award at the championship, having previously won a silver medal two years ago. The competition required participants to create two mobile games, and Vladislav excelled in the category in which he competed.

Vladislav Netaev, a master's student in Software Engineering at TSU Higher IT School, recently won first place in the Mobile Application Development competition. This is not his first time participating in the championship; he previously placed second in the same competition two years ago.

Vladislav's primary area of professional interest is in mobile and server development. He has been deeply involved in the development processes of mobile applications and games since his first year of study, while also honing his skills in web development and design. In fact, he began interning at IT companies during his third year.

The participants of the Mobile Application Development"competition were tasked with developing two game applications within 18 hours. The first task was to create a multi-format game application, while the second task was to develop a special application for Smart-TV sets.

“We had six three-hour sessions in which we were tasked with developing two applications, each with multiple components,” recalls Vladislav Netaev. “In each session, we were provided with layouts and text descriptions of the desired functionality for each part of the application. I had no trouble completing these tasks. Throughout the learning process, we went through various stages of application development and were able to put our skills into practice. I believe that my success was not only due to my prior experience, but also the valuable skills I learned at the TSU Higher IT School.”

TSU Higher IT School offers two training programs in Software Engineering. These programs cover a range of topics including programming, databases, and mobile and web-application development. A strong emphasis is placed on practical training, with students participating in practical training opportunities at partner companies such as T-Bank, Gazprombank, Indorsoft starting from their third year. The comprehensive training provided by HITs enables students to excel in professional competitions related to modern software development.
