Open Doors – future applicants discovered the TSU multiuniverse

The Open Doors at Tomsk State University was held under the motto “TSU - the universe of your opportunities”. Future applicants took part in a discussion with university representatives, students and staff of the TSU Admissions Office, learnt about the training areas and innovations in the admission rules for 2025. The Applicant Support Center held a traditional meeting for parents “How to make your child enrolled”.

The key event of the Open Doors Day was a discussion panel with representatives of the university. Together with future applicants, university professors and students discussed how to choose a training field that will be in demand in the future and how TSU contributes to talent development.

– Nowadays there are many public debates about higher education in general: whether higher education is necessary and whether it is possible to do without it. This is especially true in such areas as IT. We want to show the kids that higher education allows them not only to start working quickly and get their first money, usually not very much at the beginning. It allows you to define your career, life trajectory and, in general, to understand two things. The first is who am I? This is where the university helps a lot. And the second – what do I want to do in this world? And if our student answers both of these questions, I believe that he or she has received a university education,” said Evgeny Lukov, TSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

Polina Akumyanskaya, head of the TSU Applicant Support Center, told the university guests about the new admission rules and how to enter the university and build your educational trajectory.

She emphasized that the most important innovation of this admission campaign is that there is no more need to submit your certificate of education. Instead of the original document on education, the applicant will submit a consent to enrollment.

– As in previous years, TSU applicants will be able to see their scores and scores of other applicants immediately after submitting their documents. The rating lists also indicate the priority of the selected specialties. The publication of scores will allow applicants to quickly assess the level of competition for a state-funded place, – said Polina Akumyanskaya. – Besides, in 2025 it will be possible to submit documents to master and postgraduate programs in the Superservice “Get into university online”.

Open Doors Day at TSU, student show “Stud up”

Students from different fields of study got to know each other at the student show “Stud up”. Students from the Faculty of Innovative Technologies, the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Physical Education and the Higher IT School (HITs) shared their stories about entering the university, their studies and the additional opportunities they got at TSU. Interactive educational platforms, career guidance testing and much more were also organized for schoolchildren.

The meeting for parents was held by Irina Shulepova, a specialist of the TSU Applicant Support Center. She answered the most popular questions of parents, in particular, in what cases “fee-based” students are provided with a place in the dormitory, what is the difference between bachelor’s degree and basic higher education, whether it is necessary to pass the USE test when entering a university after graduating from college, and how to enroll in targeted training.
