Priority 2030 program funds results were published

The universities to receive a special part of the grant from the Priority 2030 program, which is funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, have been announced. 42 universities from 16 Russian regions, including Tomsk State University¾which was included in the group of leaders in the Research Leadership track¾will receive the special increased part of the grant in 2024. The universities will receive a total of 13.98 billion rubles in addition to the basic part of their grants.

“The Commission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education evaluates not the past achievements, but the dynamics of change in all major areas of their activities, from interaction with applicants to collaboration with partners. According to the 2023 results, we see that the program fulfills its purpose to encourage the universities’ development,” said Valery Falkov, Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Participants of the Research Leadership track

Based on the results of the defenses, 15 universities will receive a grant in the Research Leadership track. They are divided into three groups according to their achievements:

-The first group includes universities that scored more than 6 points out of 10 in the defense and each will receive 529.5 million rubles.

-The second group includes universities that scored from 5 to 6 points in the defense, and each will receive 317.6 million rubles.

-The third group includes universities that scored from 3 to 5 points and each will receive 105.9 million rubles.

First group universities:

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI

ITMO University

National University of Science and Technology (MISiS)

National Research Tomsk State University

National Research University Higher School of Economics

Bauman Moscow State Technical University

Second group universities:

Southern Federal University

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

Ural Federal University

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University

Novosibirsk State University



Participants of the track Territorial and (or) Sector Leadership

27 universities received grants in this track. They were divided into three groups according to the results of their development programs:

-The first group includes universities that scored more than 7 points out of 10 during the defense and each of them will receive 529.5 million rubles.

-The second group includes universities that scored from 5 to 7 points during the defense, and each of them will receive 317.6 million rubles.

-The third group includes universities that scored from 4 to 5 points and each of them will receive 109.5 million rubles.

First group universities:

Samara State Medical University,

Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University),

Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics,

Privolzhsky Research Medical University,

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University,

Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University,

Siberian State Medical University,

S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy.

In total, according to the participation results in the Priority 2030 program, the funding will be distributed among 118 universities next year, and each of 106 universities will receive more than 100 million rubles, which is the basic part of the grant. The 12 universities participating in the Far Eastern track will receive from 120.3 to 288.6 million rubles for development programs, and 42 universities will receive special funding in an amount of 105.8 to 529.4 million rubles in addition to the basic grant. The total of the 2024 program funding will exceed 31 billion rubles.
