The journal Archives of Scientific Psychology has published a list http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/arc/2/1/20.html of eminent psychologists of the modern era, based on their citation indexes and significant scientific awards in the period from the end of World War II to the present. Professor Robert Plomin, Chairman of the International Advisory Board of TSU’s International Centre for Human Development Researh, has entered this ranking.

Professor Plomin ranked 37. In addition to him, the list of 200 eminent psychologists of the modern era includes such researchers as Albert Bandura, Jean Piaget, Noam Chomsky, Paul Ekman, Leon Festinger and others.

- Professor Plomin was my scientific adviser at King's College, the University of London - says Yulia Kovas, Director of the International Centre for Human Development Researh. - He does not lose touch with all his students and involves many of them in joint projects. Professor Plomin is indeed one of the most recognized scientists in the world of psychology. We are cooperating with the Twin Registry, his project in the UK, and we are honored to work with such famous scientists. But it seems to me that the most important thing, for which Professor Plomin received his recognition, is that he always believes that his research can benefit the world.

Robert Plomin heads the UK project The Twins Early Development Study (TEDS), which is the main partner of the Russian School Twin Registry. The TEDS project, which began in 1994, investigates the nature of the complex interactions between genes and the environment in their effect on the mental development and education of children. TEDS is one of the leading studies of child development in the world, and involves 13,000 twins from birth to the present time, when they are already 18 years old.
