Students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology developed tools for LisaAlert to facilitate the people search

Students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Tomsk State University prepared three special types of equipment to help in rescuing the missing people. The projects were developed by the order of the LizaAlert search and rescue team at the Prototyping of Technical Systems student design bureau and the Project Park of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. The regional representative of LizaAlert of Tomsk Region Alexander Monastyrsky expressed gratitude to TSU students who worked on the creation of prototypes.

According to Linar Akhmetshin, associate professor of the Department of Mechanics of Deformable Solid State of TSU, young engineers had to make equipment that would help volunteers of the rescue team in rescuing the missing people in difficult conditions. Students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology developed three useful tools: protective cases for storing batteries in the field, whistles for transmitting sound signals and arrow signs for people lost in the forest.

The functional prototypes became possible due to the modern equipment of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Project Park and the enthusiasm of students who are ready to apply their knowledge to solve real social tasks.

– The projects were implemented due to the close cooperation of students and mentors, – said Anton Sklyarenko, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. – I helped with the refinement of 3D models, set up a photopolymer printer and checked the performance of products.

Thus, protective cases for storing batteries in the field are made of plastic and solve the problem of safety and quick access to replaceable batteries for equipment used by volunteers at night. Each case contains 10 batteries for lanterns or 20 rounds for the Hunter Signal launcher. The work was performed by Mikhail Alibekov, Daniil Anisimov, Ilya Kazantsev, Manuchehr Pochoev and Nikita Dubrovin.

Signal transmission whistles are also made of plastic. They are loud and have a lanyard mount, which is convenient due to the frequent loss of this necessary tool by volunteers. The project was performed by Stepan Beketov, Anton Evseev, Vasilina Matsanke, Dmitry Tsarenkov and Eduard Cherdonov.

Direction signs-arrows to be installed in the forest will help a lost person navigate in an unfamiliar space and greatly facilitate the search for access to settlements. The plates were made by Muhammadzhon Artikov, Sofia Bolsunovskaya, Mikhail Karmanov, Kirill Kokhno, Yegor Mashchenko and Arsen Sufyanov.

For reference: The project park of the Faculty of Physics and Technology was established in 2022 to develop the engineering, technical and entrepreneurial competencies of students. In 2023, it was recognized at the federal level as one of the 26 best practices supported by the Priority 2030 program. At the Priority Fest festival, the TSU project was highly appreciated by the experts of the Sociocenter and was included into the first collection of the best university projects.
