Swatch will help to develop startups of TSU students and scientists

Representatives of Swiss company Swatch Group visited TSU. They are interested in new materials developed by the university, in particular, powder technologies. The Swiss company proposed to begin work on the commercialization of the works of TSU scientists on the international market.

In July 2017, Tomsk State University, the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of the SB RAS, and Swatch Group signed an agreement on the implementation of joint projects, and the partners decided to get acquainted with the technologies and developments of TSU.

- We told colleagues about the university, they were interested in new materials, with which TSU works, especially powder technologies. They want to develop scientific and technological collaboration, - said Artem Rykun, the Vice-rector for International Relations. - Swatch Group will send us a list of its priorities, and we will send them a list of our patents and start-ups.

The Swiss delegation included Jean-Luc Bazin, the Director of the Center for New Product Development, Chilla Miko, the project manager, Jean-Bernard Peter, Director for Innovative Development and Technology, and Konstantin Kruk, Business Development Director of DPS Innovations.

- Within this agreement, we plan to commercialize projects on materials science and powder technologies, - said Sergey Kulkov, the head of the Laboratory of Medical Materials. - Colleagues noted that our laboratories are finds for them.
