The first Russian song in Maltese sounded in Malta

One of the most beloved songs of the Great Patriotic War “In the dugout” ("V zemlyanke") was performed by the famous Maltese opera singer Joseph Lia to the accompaniment of Yuri Sharygin, a Russian musician living in Malta.
Joseph performed the song not only in Maltese, but also in Russian, as he had graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
Such an event was made possible thanks to Yana Psayla, a graduate of the TSU Faculty of Foreign Languages , who translated the song to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The song was very warmly received by both Russian and Maltese listeners.
