This semester students from the Institute of Economics and Management began their studies in China

Cooperation between the Institute of Economics and Management of Tomsk State University and Chinese partners is reaching a new level. Two years ago, TSU signed the MoU with Nindeng Pedagogical University and Jilin University of Foreign Languages (China), which laid the foundation for joint training of specialists and student exchanges. This semester, a group of TSU students from the Institute of Economics and Management are studying in China.

Elizaveta Izmailova, Anastasia Makoveeva, Elizaveta Marchenko, Sofya Mokrushina and Daria Gilgenberg – master students in International Management – have already begun their studies at Jilin University of Foreign Languages. They not only deepen their knowledge of international management, but also immerse themselves in the business culture of East Asia.

— Studying in China is a unique opportunity to gain experience in another country and study at another university, improve your level of Chinese, meet interesting people and visit various places in China. I take genuine pleasure in studying and living here. I really like China. I like their culture, style, lifestyle. I am very glad that TSU gives students the opportunity to get such an experience, – says Elizaveta Izmailova.

Anastasia Makoveeva notes that this is the best decision she has made in her life:

— The first month in China passed like one minute. Here we do not have time to get bored: study is mixed with endless walks around the city, language practice is 24/7, and our new friends are guys from different countries. This is not just a semester abroad, but a crash course in networking and language improvement. I take genuine pleasure in what is going on here. I enjoy everything here – culture, lifestyle, style. I am especially pleased that my university provides such an opportunity.

As Sofya Mokrushina says, the coolest thing is the international atmosphere: the teachers represent different parts of the planet – Serbia, India, Ethiopia, China. In the dormitory, TSU students constantly communicate with students from other countries, and this is an invaluable experience.

— This is my first time in China, so studying and living here is all new to me. We have classes within our specialization, as well as classes for learning the Chinese language. As a result, the training becomes very intense and interesting. When we have free time, we communicate with students from other countries and study the culture of China, – says Daria Gilgenberg.

According to Elizaveta Marchenko, she likes that in addition to classes, students have time to learn more about the culture and traditions of China:

— Teachers are always ready to help, and it is especially valuable that among them there are specialists from other countries. The atmosphere at the university is conducive to development, and I feel significant progress in my knowledge.

It is important to note that mobility remains bilateral: in parallel with the study of TSU students to China, representatives of the Chinese partner university will be trained in Tomsk. Such synergy allows building stable intercultural ties and strengthening the position of the International Management program as one of the most international directions of the Institute of Economics and Management.
