TSU alumni from Indonesia became an ambassador of Russian education

TSU alumni from Indonesia, Tura Parthayana, has been appointed as an ambassador of Russian education and science. He will promote Russian science and education internationally through participation in educational and cultural events and informational work. The title of "Ambassador of Russian Education and Science" was awarded to him by Valery Falkov, Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The Ambassadors Program aims to garner public and state support for promoting Russian education abroad and attracting international students. During a recent gathering of colleagues, Valery Falkov highlighted Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal of increasing the number of international students in Russian universities to 500,000 by 2030.

Tura Parthayana made the decision to study in Tomsk in 2015, rather than in St. Petersburg or Moscow. He successfully graduated from the Institute of Economics and Management at TSU in 2020. In 2017, he launched his YouTube channel, which has now amassed over 2 million subscribers. Through his videos, he shares his experiences living in Russia, his studies at universities in Tomsk and Moscow, campus tours, and travels.

The Ambassadors of Russian Education and Science program, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, aims to increase the prestige of Russian education and promote Russian science abroad. Any foreign citizen who speaks Russian and another foreign language can become an ambassador by fulfilling the assigned tasks. Tura was nominated for this position by Tomsk State University.

As an ambassador, he plans to highlight the opportunities offered by studying at a Russian university and promote Russian culture.

“Russia is a remarkable country with a strong focus on science and higher education,” stated Tura Parthayana, an ambassador for Russian education. “As a representative of Russian education, my goal is to promote Russian culture and highlight the benefits of pursuing higher education in Russia. Furthermore, I am committed to addressing any inquiries from prospective students and showcasing through my own experiences that Russia is an excellent choice for education.”
