TSU and two Chinese universities signed a memorandum of understanding

Tomsk State University, Ningde Normal University, and Jilin International Studies University (China) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, joint training of specialists, and student exchange. The universities plan to implement student exchange programs in 2024 and to launch a 1+1 master’s program in international management in 2025.

The Chinese side initiated the signing of memorandums of cooperation. Yuan Kefeng and Zhang Xiaoxia, who completed PhD program of the Institute of Economics and Management in 2023, proposed that TSU cooperate with Ningde Normal University.

“In the case of Jilin University of Foreign Languages, Wang Xinhua, an employee of this university who defended his PhD thesis at TSU several years ago, proposed to cooperate,” said Olga Nedospasova, head of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, head of the master's program in International Management.“  Jilin International Studies University is interested in us because of our International Winter School in English, which has been attracting the attention of prospective applicants from different countries for 4 years.”

Olga Nedospasova notes that there is a great demand in Chinese universities for joint educational programs with Russian universities.

“We started discussing cooperation with two Chinese universities in September last year, then signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation, and now this process has been completed.”

Tomsk State University currently cooperates with 26 universities in China. There are 39 ongoing agreements with Chinese educational institutions in total. The main areas are the development of joint educational programs and research projects, student and staff exchange, and staff training.
