TSU student from Bangladesh joined three summer schools in China

This summer a student of the Higher IT School (HITS) of Tomsk State University Riaz Ahmed fr om Bangladesh passed a competitive selection for three international summer schools in China at once. He will study artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, electronics and modern information and communication systems at the universities of Zhejiang, Chengdu and Harbin. All three programs are devoted to IT. The trips are organized with the support of the TSU Center for Academic Mobility and the HITS international department.

— I successfully passed the competitive selection for these international summer schools, because I was confident in the solid fundamental and practical knowledge that Tomsk State University gave me, – said Riaz Ahmed. – Studying at TSU, especially at the Higher IT School, helped me develop both technical skills and critical thinking, which is a prerequisite for participating in such advanced programs. I am proud to represent TSU, and I want to show that the educational and scientific environment of Tomsk State University allows students to be competitive on the international market.

The programs cover a wide range of modern technologies. So, at the UESTC-ESE summer school “Electronic Science and Technology – Bridging Innovation and Heritage” in Chengdu, students study advanced developments in the field of electronics, embedded systems and communication technologies with the emphasis on mastering practical skills.

— I actively participated and answered most of the questions. My answers impressed the R&D company and they gave me a little prize. After that, the program teacher invited me to join them next year – at the aviation faculty. Besides, teachers from France invited me to come to them in the winter for further academic collaboration, – added Riaz Ahmed.

During summer schools, Riaz talked about Tomsk State University to students and teachers from Spain, Belgium, Great Britain, Scotland, France, Egypt and other countries.

— I explained wh ere TSU is located, described the city of Tomsk and emphasized how friendly the university is and open to international students. Teachers at TSU are very supportive and are always ready for dialogue, which creates a comfortable and motivating educational environment, – he said.

Riaz also made a presentation about TSU, its main traditions, student life and academic strengths of the faculty.

Upon graduation from UESTC, the organizers invited Riaz Ahmed to become their ambassador for developing relations with TSU.

— The main goal is to deepen the relations between TSU and UESTC, – Riaz Ahmed explained. – As an ambassador, my task is to become a volunteer for international students, to develop our friendly relations not only among students, but also among universities. I will facilitate cooperation between UESTC and TSU, assist in promoting UESTC at TSU, present UESTC International Summer School programs to friends and colleagues, and share my experiences at UESTC and in Chengdu.

At the summer school of Zhejiang University, Riaz Ahmed will participate in the track “Quantum Biological Information and Computation – Data Acquisition and Processing” in partnership with DeepSeek. It covers the intersection of quantum technologies, biological information and data processing methods.

At Harbin Institute of Technology, the program is dedicated to “New Generation Intelligent Information and Communication Technology” – intelligent communication systems, next generation networks and AI-based information technology.

— In China, I will work with modern technologies in the field of electronic science, quantum biological information, data collection and processing, as well as new generations of intelligent information and communication technologies, – Riaz explained. – These areas are directly related to artificial intelligence and innovative digital solutions. This international practice helps me form a global professional network, deepen my understanding of advanced technologies and prepare for an international career in engineering and information technology.
