According to the results of the 2024 admission campaign, Tomsk State University enrolled more than 1,300 international students, which is a 23% increase from the previous year.

“Despite external factors, the university has seen a 19% enrollment growth this year. Currently, we have 1,326 enrolled international students, compared to 1,075 students last year,” said Evgeny Pavlov, head of TSU Student Enrollment Division. He also noted that the enrollment of scholarship students is still in process.

The most popular programs for international students at TSU this year were Classical Physics, Ballistics and Fluid Dynamics, Biology, Geology, and Psychology.

E. Pavlov mentioned that the university has enrolled students from 24 countries, with the majority coming from Kazakhstan (517). There has also been a notable increase in the number of applicants from Turkmenistan (244 students enrolled) and China (226 students enrolled). Additionally, there were a significant number of enrolled students from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

“If we talk about non-CIS countries, we have enrolled students from such countries as Zimbabwe, Laos, Mali, Chile, Bangladesh, Venezuela, and Ecuador. In other words, we have enrolled students from all over the world,” said Evgeny Pavlov.

Overall, there were 5,801 students enrolled in the university with over 4,000 of them being on state-funded places. This is an increase of 300 students from the previous year. The university is also continuing to enroll scholarship and Master's degree students.
