During the meeting at the Confucius Institute, the participants discussed the renewal of double degree programs in Chinese philology and chemistry, as well as the launch of several new programs. These include a professional training course on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, a professional development course on Chinese language for business communication, and a professional development program in Russian for employees of enterprises working or planning to work with China.

“I am extremely grateful to Shenyang Ligong University for their support of the Confucius Institute at TSU. The university holds a high level of respect in Russia and was recently recognized as one of the best in the world,” said TSU Rector Eduard Galazhinsky during the meeting. “This recognition leads me to believe that there is great potential for cooperation between our institutions. Specifically, I believe that we can work together to further develop the platform that was created through the English Patient project. Originally designed to teach Russian to our students, the platform contains a vast and diverse range of content. With our combined efforts, we can adapt it to also teach Chinese to undergraduate and postgraduate students.”

The parties also agreed to expand research cooperation and develop a roadmap for future collaboration.

The partnership between TSU and Shenyang Ligong University began in 2007 with the signing of a partnership agreement. In 2008, the Confucius Institute was established at TSU, serving as a platform for cultural exchange and in-depth study of Chinese language and traditions. This was followed by the establishment of a joint Pushkin Russian Language Center in Shenyang, providing opportunities for the Chinese to study Russian language and culture. The Center is the only one of its kind in Liaoning Province.
