There will be a new "Lesson fr om the Ocean" on April 3 at 11:00 Moscow time (15:00 Tomsk time, GMT +7), dedicated to the continent terra incognita - Antarctica. The annual meeting is organized by the Tomsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society. Participants fr om India, Thailand, and Sri Lanka will join the meeting.

Evgeny Kovalevsky and Stanislav Beryozkin, who have been on the expedition "On the Way of Russian Round-the-World Navigators" for two-and-a-half years, will communicate with students in the new Lesson fr om the Ocean. Participants in polar expeditions and scientists in Antarctica will join in.

Four active platforms will also join the event: students from Tomsk schools, as well as school students from St. Petersburg, Barnaul, and Mumbai (India). It will be streamed on the YouTube channel and in the VKontakte group of the Tomsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society, wh ere every viewer can easily become a participant using chat without registration.

“There are more and more countries participating in the lesson. Today India, Thailand, and Sri Lanka have joined our event. There will be more than one million school students attending the broadcast, and this is an indicator of the project's relevance and significance,” said project manager Yulia Kalyuzhnaya.

The event will be held in Tomsk at Tomsk State University. The project's scientific supervisor is Vladimir Kotlyakov. The partners are the Tomsk Region Administration, the Department of General Education of the Tomsk region, Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (St. Petersburg), and National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (Vasco da Gama, India).
