- TSU has entered the international scientific arena, where the question of identity is important. Our university spent two years developing its new brand with the participation of world-class experts. And when the platform of the brand was created, we realized that we needed a new visual identity, and appealed to the design studio "Province" - professionals who know and feel the university - said Julia Emer, Head of the Information Policy Department.
In the new logo, which retained the recognizable silhouette of the main building and the crowning heraldic shield as a sign of tradition and rich history, the designers managed to reflect the Eurasian spirit, uniting the pointed coats of arms of European universities and the round emblems of Asian universities. The founding year of the university and Tomsk as its location are also reflected in the new logo.
- We have taken as a base of the logo the letter U, which begins the word university in most languages of the world - said Artem Fomin, the developer of the logo. - Also, U is a symbol of the magnet, as TSU has always attracted intellectuals and talented students and teachers. In addition, it is a universal abbreviation for “you”. We have kept the traditional color - blue - but made it more bright, cheerful and attractive, closer to sky blue.
- We hope that on September 1 (Day of Knowledge), our students and staff will meet the new sign – said Yulia Emer.
