U-NOVUS members will develop new services for smart cities

U-NOVUS is the Tomsk forum for new solutions. The opening ceremony was greeted by the Alexey Medvedev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. On behalf of Mikhail Kotyukov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, he recalled that the President of the Russian Federation had set an important task: to make Russia one of the five leading countries in the world implementing research in priority areas of scientific and technological development. To achieve this goal, effective partnership mechanisms of the state, science, and business are needed.

The new format of the fifth Tomsk U-NOVUS forum was presented by its moderator Eduard Galazhinsky, Rector of Tomsk State University (the program operator of the event). He said that the work of the forum will be built in the logic of the triple helix:

- This is a successful interaction between government, science and education, and business. We wanted to consider the challenges and the tasks that today face the regions from these three positions. And we give the start to 12 tracks. I very much hope that today we will be able to give a new movement to the region, and of course Tomsk has no other choice but to become one of the centers of the industrial revolution.

Specialists from large companies, high-tech and innovative business, teams from universities, and research organizations will work together on the challenges of new industries. During the three days of the forum, participants will be able to visit workshops, hackathons, and lectures.

For example, under the U-NOVUS forum, a workshop Digital Solutions for Smart Cities is being held. Its participants are developing the concept of new smart services for implementation in small and medium-sized cities. The task for the workshop was provided by Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions.

The participants of the workshop are faced with the task of developing new services of the Smart City base platform for implementation in small and medium-sized cities. Rusatom Infrastructure Solutions expects to receive the concept of smart services with an indication of the tasks that these products must provide in the cities of Tomsk Region. Participants will also need to evaluate the expected effect of the implementation.

Employees of IT companies, the administration of Tomsk, and representatives of universities will work together to solve the problem.
