Young psychologists will conduct support consultations

Twenty students of the TSU Faculty of Psychology, under the supervision of qualified psychologists, will conduct consultations on crisis issues related to the pandemic. The project was launched for the both the psychological support of the population and the practice of the students.

- The relevance of online psychological support to the population is associated with a critical situation due to the regime of self-isolation and the coronavirus pandemic, - explains Azamat Naiman, head of the TSU Psychological Service. - The importance of our project is that students who have a sufficient theoretical base will have the opportunity to put theory into practice and help people.

Students will conduct short-term consultations on crisis issues, depressed emotional state, negative thoughts, and in general a desire to express their problems and receive feedback from a person with a psychological education.

Psychological consultations will be held on weekdays from 12 to 20 hours (12-8 p.m.). Those who apply for support will have the opportunity to choose a convenient format - consultation by video call, by phone, or by chat. As noted by the TSU Psychological Service, this is important if the client wants to maintain their anonymity.

The experienced university psychologists will supervise the work of students throughout the entire working day and in the format of evening supervision. During their work, students will rely on the basic principles of counseling - maintaining confidentiality, openness, and respect for boundaries.
